SKEIN Taken on a mobile phone early one January morning at my local beach. The contrails of aircraft reflect the pinks of the rising winter sun. Gaggle is the collective noun of geese on the ground, Skein while they’re flying.

Voyager

VOYAGER Set against the dawn sky, this is a shot taken of Linda Bunker’s installation at Laytown, Co. Meath. Taken on a Nikon D3400.

The Net

THE NET Taken on a phone during a break in a game at the Laytown & Bettystown Tennis Club. It’s not quite an abstract but it - to my eye - make for an interesting image.

THE BLACK LIGHTHOUSE A mobile phone shot of Drogheda Port East Lighthouse at Mornington Strand, Co. Meath. It was built around 1880 of cast-iron within a brick boundary wall it sits above the dunes with its large glazed panel gazing out to the Irish Sea.

The Black Lighthouse

SHORELINE A phone shot of the incoming tide at Mornington Beach, Co. Meath.

The Shoreline

EMO COURT TREE Although green is my favourtite colour, you can’t beat a photograph of a tree in black & white.

High Contract Paraglider

HIGH CONTRAST PARAGLIDER I love high contrast minimalist images that consist mostly of pure white and black.

UPSIDE DOWN WORLD Taken during the Covid-19 pandemic when our travel was limited to 5 kms, the wanderlust was taking hold and lockdown was really starting to take its toll. This shot seemed appropriate at the time.

Poolbeg Melting

POOLBEG MELTING Taken around 5:00 am after while arriving in Dublin Port from Holyhead. This shot was not intentional but an abstract created as consequence of a lack of sleep.

Original Taste
Contained

ORIGINAL TASTE A phone shot of a December street scene in Dublin - the holidays were on the way and the advertising was in full swing (“The Holidays are Coming” ad infinitum). I really like how the colour is so vibrant in the dark and murky puddle - pushing up the saturation in Snapseed helped of course. #Vimto

CONTAINED Following a business meeting in East Point, Dublin, I pushed the saturation up to the max during processing.

The Pool

THE POOL As you can see from some of the images on this page, I do like a shot with reflections!

Tangerine Sky

AVONDALE FOREST PARK - ICM A little intentional camera movement always works pretty well with trees!

TANGERINE & BLUE Sunset over Mornington and the River Boyne, Co Meath. The Maiden’s Tower is a local landmark. This shot was taken on a mobile phone and the formation of the clouds give the image a long exposure look/feel.

ALERIA A moment of stillness at the mouth of the River Boyne.

Gold Ring

GOLD RING The front wheel of a pristine Kawasaki W800 (black tank with a silver stripe) - the gold really popped out.
